VantageLinks is dedicated to Information Technology (IT) staffing through direct placements, contract-to-hire, and contract services. We currently have an openings for a Reconciliation Associate with one of our premier clients.

Reconciliation Associate- Contractor

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•Balance and prepare reconciliations for firm clearing accounts.
•Prepare account reconciliations for firm general ledger, control, and suspense accounts.
•Reconcile firm position accounts to outside custodians.
•Properly state account reconciliations with adequate supporting documentation.
•Work with management to improve the quality of the account reconciliations.
•Assist to identify areas where controls and procedures can be improved in the preparation of the account reconciliations.
•Understand all activities in balance sheet accounts.
•Monitor and track securities that create deficits to the firm.
•Perform monthly audit of physical securities held at the firm.
•Perform data entry processing of daily settlement figures and clearly communicate issues to management.
•Maintain appropriate records, files, and documentation.
•Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
•Strong understanding of debits and credit in a dual accounting environment.
•Quick and accurate data entry skills, including 10-key.
•Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
•Ability to communicate clearly and express ideas concisely and effectively. Ability to listen to and respond appropriately to others.
•Ability to work effectively within the department and across departments as a pro-active team member.
•Self starter willing to pro-actively assist others when necessary.
•Excellent reconciliation and problem solving skills with the ability to research effectively.
•Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced/changing environment.
•Ability to recommend adjustments to processes and procedures for highest accuracy and efficiency.
•Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
•Basic level proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
•Foster company success through a professional appearance, being courteous to customers and all associates and by having a positive attitude.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
•Associate’s degree in Business or Finance or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
•1+ year brokerage and/or operations experience required.
