PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Develops the architectural strategy and roadmap for shared/common systems across the enterprise.
Develops and maintains an payment systems strategy, including architectural design and a multi-year roadmap.
Maintains an in-depth knowledge of industry payment trends and strategic business objectives, as well as corporate strategies and goals.
Provides architectural consulting expertise, direction, and assistance to systems analysts, systems engineers, and other systems architects.
Maintains an in-depth knowledge of company’s existing IT architecture, infrastructure, and technology portfolio.
Governs and guides the evolutionary development of the enterprise architecture strategy and roadmap.
Conducts research on emerging technologies in support of infrastructure development efforts and recommends technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and infrastructure flexibility.
Designs, develops, and oversees implementation of end-to-end integrated systems.
Develops and maintains understanding of the freight and parcel business so as to thoroughly and efficiently facilitate the above responsibilities.
Stays abreast of the latest application development, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies.
Other projects as requested.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Advanced level of understanding of enterprise architecture principles and practices.
Deep subject matter expertise to deliver predictable enterprise-level solutions which utilize both modern cloud and distributed processing to meet business and technology needs.
Knowledge of design, documentation, research, process and pattern implementation utilizing modern cloud-based technologies.
Advanced knowledge of payment related technologies and processes.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to interact and collaborate across all levels of business and technology teams.
Demonstrated experience in advanced architectural practices and techniques with emphasis on reliability, scalability and reuse.
Knowledge of defining the architecture of cloud deployed applications.
Knowledge of containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes or other similar tooling.
Proven ability to define and drive SecDevOps best practices.
Ability to build applications using service-oriented, micro service, and/or API based architectures at an enterprise scale.
Excellent history of building solutions that meet business needs, accelerate digital transformation while being sensitive to environment costs, operational activities and costs, and auditability/security concerns and requirements.
MINIMUM LEVEL OF PREPARATION AND TRAINING NORMALLY REQUIRED:
A bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or computer engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5+ years of recent enterprise architect experience.
5+ years of experience working with cloud-based technologies (Azure preferred).
5+ years of experience developing applications with modern programming languages such as .Net Core, Dev/Ops, Angular, and Bootstrap.
Experience establishing legacy modernization and migration roadmaps for large scale applications.
Experience in migration approaches for applications moving from traditional hosted to cloud based environments.
