IT Lead – Manufacturing Barcode Enablement
The IT Lead – Manufacturing Barcode Enablement opportunity is a technical/business role assigned to the ERP deployment project. The role is responsible for the implementation of barcode equipment sourcing, configuration, installation, pilot, and full deployment of barcode enablement for the St. Louis manufacturing site. The role requires strong technical and functional analysis as well as light project management capabilities to manage the work and deployment in scope. The role will work closely with IT infrastructure, IT support desk, ERP business analysts, and manufacturing operations for successful execution. The scope is about 20-30 printers and 50-70 barcode scanners and related stations across 3 manufacturing sites to include manufacturing areas and warehouses.
Responsibilities
- Technical barcode device / equipment and configuration troubleshooting.
- Working with industry Wi-Fi standards.
- Android end point device configuration.
- Installing and configuring Zebra printers.
- Installing and configuring mobile devices – specifically barcode tablets and industry standard Android barcode handheld scanners.
- Windows, Network, Application and device security design and configuration models.
- Technical documentation writing, including both functional specification level documents, end-user support documentation, device/install asset management.
- Customer engagement and working through business process models to understand IT equipment point of use and installation plan.
- Designing and executing technical and business tests with various stakeholders to ensure fit for purpose.
- Understand knowledge transfer steps and how to perform show/tell training, including basic training material creation.
- Application-device troubleshooting skills.
- Managing successful resolutions of technical issues through vendor support tickets and resolution pathways.
- Strong organization and communication – status updates to ERP project team and business stakeholders for work scope and efforts.
- Light project management capabilities – scope and build a self-managed implementation plan with support from ERP project team and technical staff (technical scoping, sequencing work blocks, and estimates of duration/time to complete, status tracking and reporting).
- Cost tracking and reconciliation for equipment purchases.
- Working through and modifying compliance level documentation during installation (qualifications in GMP manufacturing).
Qualifications
- Must be a US Person defined by US department of State (US Citizen, Green Card, or Protected status).
- Minimum Education Required: Associate Degree.
- Louis Location – will work onsite predominantly at our Westport location. But will travel to our Bridgeton and Brentwood plants, as needed.
- 5+ years’ IT experience – technical, functional analyst, infrastructure, barcoding deployment experience.
- Must have the technical knowledge to design setup and implement barcoding devices and printers as a one-person team. They will also lead the project.
- Must have manufacturing experience.
- Experience with cGMP/GLP, GAMP a plus.
